Fast-growing range of CC-Link IE TSN development options on show at SPS 2019

At SPS – Smart Production Solutions 2019, the CC-Link Partner Association (CLPA) will showcase various solutions being created by some of its partners to support the development of CC-Link IE TSN. The comprehensive offering from industry-leading automation specialists supports device makers looking to use the innovative open network technology in a range of Ethernet environments.

CC-Link IE TSN was launched at last year’s fair and there is now an expanding group of companies building compatible development options on display for 2019.

This year the CLPA will display a wide range of industry-standard development solutions for its latest open network technology, CC-Link IE TSN. This combines gigabit Ethernet bandwidth with Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) to support challenging Industry 4.0 applications.

Visitors to the CLPA’s stand (Hall 5, Stand 106) at SPS 2019 will be able to learn more about how automation industry leaders such as Hilscher, HMS, MESCO, Mitsubishi Electric, port, Renesas and SILA are forming the CC-Link IE TSN comprehensive product development ecosystem. Various examples of supporting solutions for the development of CC-Link IE TSN compatible products will be displayed.

The technology was designed to offer extensive product development opportunities, ensuring maximum flexibility and interoperability for device makers and end users. In particular, CC-Link IE TSN supports both hardware and software implementations to suit 1Gbit and 100Mbit physical layers, master and slave devices, as well as any combination of these. “No matter what kind of CC-Link IE TSN compatible products device manufacturers have in mind, the CLPA’s partners are able to offer suitable solutions addressing these specific needs,” explains John Browett, General Manager at CLPA Europe.

In addition, device makers know that they can depend on these industry standard solutions for CC-Link IE TSN to develop quality products.

John Browett concludes: “The CLPA is committed to providing state-of-the-art technologies that address the evolving needs of manufacturers and industrial automation. CC-Link IE TSN is the result of our work to futureproof industrial communications for Industry 4.0 applications.

“The increasing number of development solutions available now or planned in the near future clearly shows that the market is responding positively to the possibilities that CC-Link IE TSN offers. Our latest open network technology delivers real-time, reliable, deterministic communications to devices with Gigabit or 100Mbit capabilities. This is one of the key reasons driving several industry leaders to increase the range of options for companies looking to add CC-Link IE TSN compatibility to their product lines.”

About The CC-Link Partner Association (CLPA)

The CLPA is an international organisation founded in 2000 dedicated to the technical development and promotion of the CC-Link family of open automation networks. The CLPA's key technology is CC-Link IE TSN, the world's first open industrial Ethernet to combine gigabit bandwidth with Time Sensitive Networking (TSN), making it the leading solution for Industry 4.0 applications. Currently the CLPA has over 3,600 member companies worldwide, and more than 1,900 compatible products available from over 300 manufacturers. Over 26 million devices using CLPA technology are in use worldwide.
