One network, one solution to multiple goals

Role of CC-Link IE TSN as enabling technology for smart manufacturing highlighted at SPS Italia

The CC-Link Partner Association (CLPA) will once again show its support for the Italian manufacturing industry at SPS Italia, demonstrating how Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) delivers value to a multitude of applications in the sector. From 23rd-25th May, visitors to stand G030 in hall 6 will be able to look at how CC-Link IE TSN, the first open industrial gigabit Ethernet with TSN functions, can support the creation of highly efficient, data-driven manufacturing.

Celebrating its 11th edition, the leading Italian trade fair for smart manufacturing, SPS Italia, is expected to welcome over 41,000 visitors interested in learning more about enabling technologies for the digital and green transformations. In line with this year’s exhibition motto “innovative by vocation”, the CLPA will highlight how it has maintained a track record of innovation by featuring CC-Link IE TSN, the leading open industrial Ethernet technology. This can help create a single, converged architecture to support Industry 4.0 targets through increased process transparency and, hence, by enabling better plant management.

Visitors to the CLPA’s booth will have the chance to learn more about how this is possible by seeing real-world applications and demonstrations of TSN in action. These include enabling operational technology (OT), motion control and information technology (IT) machine vision data traffic to share the same network. These will also highlight the support the technology enjoys from a variety of industrial automation leaders.

By driving the interoperability between IT and OT systems, TSN can help companies increase productivity, efficiency and flexibility. To this end, the CLPA will show how over 50 global manufacturers from different sectors have been able to benefit from TSN by adopting CC-Link IE TSN and compatible industrial automation products.

John Browett, General Manager at CLPA Europe, comments: “The Italian manufacturing sector is full of industry players being proactive in the adoption of enabling technologies to support their digitalisation journey. Our network technology CC-Link IE TSN is well suited to help companies address these goals and we look forward to showing visitors to the fair how this can be achieved. We invite anyone interested in learning more to visit our booth and engage with our experts during the event.”
