Prominent role of TSN in the digital transformation discussed at the ARC Advisory Group’s latest event
The CC-Link Partner Association (CLPA) will hold an online workshop on the benefits of Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) for future-oriented manufacturing at the ARC Industry Forum Europe. During the online event, which will take place on 18-19 May 2021, the organisation will showcase the potential of TSN and key real-world industrial applications of this technology to industry-leading manufacturers.
The ARC Industry Forum Europe 2021 will bring together leading automation specialists from around Europe and beyond to showcase how manufacturers can accelerate their digital transformation strategies. As a renowned key industry player in the network technology sector, the CLPA will contribute to the discussion by leading a workshop on TSN as an enabler for the Connected Industries of the Future.
During the session, John Browett, General Manager at CLPA Europe, will look at what the technology is, how it can help enhance industrial communications by supporting data convergence and why this is an essential element of smart manufacturing. The workshop will also present the key features of CC-Link IE TSN, the first open industrial Ethernet that leverages TSN while also offering gigabit bandwidth.
An overview of two real-world applications of CC-Link IE TSN to futureproof and improve the productivity of production activities will also be provided. These case studies attest to the readiness of TSN technology for implementation in large, commercial-scale industrial frameworks as well as how it is futureproofing data sharing over industrial Ethernet.
The workshop will wrap up with a panel discussion that will feature CLPA partners HMS Networks, Mitsubishi Electric and Moxa. Tom Burke, Global Strategic Adviser to the CLPA, will moderate the discussion.
John Browett comments: “We are looking forward to presenting at ARC Industry Forum Europe 2021 and showcasing the game-changing potential of TSN to decision-makers and top-level managers from a wide range of industries. Our network technology, CC-Link IE TSN, is already proving extremely beneficial to support the digital transformation of businesses, by supporting data availability and convergence, core aspects of data-driven factories. We invite anyone interested in learning more about the possibilities offered by TSN to register for the event and join our workshop.”
